Forum Members Rack up the Miles on Aston Martins

110k Aston Martin Vantage

How much do I love thee? Let me count the (s)miles.

When you’re talking about exotic and sports cars you can measure the amount of fun an owner is having by the digits on the odometer. That’s how it ought to be done, in our opinion. While there’s a time and a place for humidity-controlled garages, there’s nothing worse than cars sitting and rotting. Though it makes good TV when they’re found.

One user in the 6speedonline forums, Svx, started a thread at the end of January to ask the question, “how many miles on your Aston?” The site has quite a few Aston owners, and a few having a bit of fun with them. Now, we know just how many members are having fun with their Aston Martins. Thousands of miles, often within a few months.

Another member, Old phart, gets it right on the money and said, “2009 DB9 – 45,000 smiles. Although only 27k are mine. But I’m quite certain the previous owners were smiling too.”

User jroback joined the high-mileage (smileage?) club, “[2007 V8 Vantage] with 54K miles. I have had it for about 4.5 years, and put on 47K of those miles.”

Another user, RolexDaytona1, chimed in, with 30,000 in the last 4 years. He adds, “I am clearly not ‘saving’ it for the next guy!”

User oo7 certainly isn’t saving it either. His 2007 Vantage is showing 110,000 miles! We salute you, 007! Nice user handle, by the way.

Many other users chimed in with their mileage, but one sentiment was clear across nearly all the posts: these cars are meant to be driven, and 6speedonline forum members are the ones putting the miles on. With so many different people anecdotally reporting such high numbers (for exotics) it’s obvious the issues are far and few between. Several mentioned an idle stalling issue, but there weren’t pages of horror stories, rather pages of smiles.

How many miles have you put on your Aston Martin? Join the conversation in the forums and let us know.
