Forza 6 Spills the Beans on Ford GT Performance and Weight

Modern day racing simulators are pretty darn accurate, and the Forza series from Turn 10 Studios is one of the most accurate ones a casual gamer can buy. In order to be accurate, they have to know things like horsepower, weight, and torque of hundreds of vehicles. In some cases, it could be before the vehicle even goes on sale. That’s the case with the Ford GT and Forza 6. If Forza is correct, we now know some key performance stats.

Thanks to our friends at Motor Authority who dug deep into the game, we believe the 2016 Ford GT will make 630 horsepower and 539 lb-ft of torque from the turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost engine. Additionally, that engine will have to move around 2,890 lbs of weight with a 43-57 weight distribution from front to rear.

Is this accurate? Who knows? While the numbers might be accurate, it’s also possible that Ford provided Forza with misinformation, or that the numbers changed since the production of the game. With a simple software update, the numbers could easily be changed to the final production specifications. It’s unlikely that Ford would want everyone to know the numbers through a leak in a video game, but rather make the announcement themselves.

Or so you would think. What do you think? Let us know in the forums!
