How Good is the New Lamborghini Huracan?

The Lamborghini Gallardo is the best selling Lamborghini ever, and by several times over. People called it “the baby Lambo”, but when you compared it to its big brother (Murcielago and LP640, etc), in terms of real-world performance, manageability, and driver feedback, it was the better car. You could fit it places, it had more balanced steering, and unlike the new Aventador, you didn’t have to wait ’til you were 3 miles past a corner to touch the gas pedal. Now, the new one is here, the Huracan.

I’m predicting—and hoping—it will feel like the Audi R8 V10 Plus, because that was one of the best cars I’d ever been allowed inside. Perfect steering speed, lots of feedback, instantly predictable, completely usable. That’s a recipe of a very good car. Lamborghini’s partnership has strengthened Lamborghini, giving them lots of things that work (wiper motors, HVAC controls, etc) allowing them to focus on the good stuff: beauty, speed, noise. The Huracan makes 602HP, weighs less than its predecessor, and looks great.

I haven’t driven the new Huracan, and it will probably be a very long before I do, but my friend, Carolos Lago, has. So, if you’re in the market for the next great Lamborghini, or just want to know what it’s like, click over to his article.
