THE HELLCAT LIVES ON!
THE HELLCAT LIVES ON! Dodge announced that the Charger is getting the Hellcat treatment. All 707 horsepower sent straight to the rear wheels, making this the fastest, most powerful sedan ever. EVER!
A car “that redefines the preconceived notions on what makes a business sense.” That’s what the speaker just said about the new Hellcat Charger.
Let’s run down the list. 202 mph top speed, that’s three miles an hour faster than the Challenger. 707 hp certified by the NHRA. Four doors, so you can scare the piss out of all your friends.
Two intercoolers separate from the engine coolant. Massive Brembo brakes, biggest ones ever put on a Dodge product, which includes the Viper. And an 11.4 second quarter mile. Let me just say that again. It’s an 11 second SEDAN!
It “redefines practicality.” There’s practicality in a 707 hp sedan that runs 11s? I had no idea. I’ll just tell my wife that “It’s practical, it has a trunk, he has a four doors, it’s an automatic.” Right?
It will still do stonking great burnouts, it still has functional NACA ducts, and Dodge listened to everyone complaining about not being able to distinguish the Hellcat line, so they finally put a badge on it!
It will also be more than 1200 units, RWD, and only auto. No word on price yet, but it will be on sale early next year. It weighs a bit more than the Challenger Hellcat but that increased weight actually helps it get off the line faster making the trap speed and quarter mile faster than the Challenger!
Seriously, I love Dodge for bringing this to the market and saying to hell small output engines, we want “ludicrous speed!” THIS IS A MONSTER! And sounds fantastic with that Supercharger whine! Although, one piece of bad news, the motor won’t be going into the Dart, damn.
