Introducing the Civic-gatti? Bug-ivic?
Look. We know the Buggatti is Veyron is an incredibly costly car well out of reach for all but a few people. We know that it’s also an object of automotive lust for people across the world that don’t have $1.6 million dollars burning a hole in their pocket. We understand the temptation.
That’s no excuse for the Civic-gatti.
In a way, it’s ingenious and kind of inspiring. Just imagine that the little Civic underneath all this fiberglass dreamed of being more as it rolled off the assembly line. Finally, it’s getting it’s chance. Credit where credit is due, the eight piece fiberglass body kit is actually well made. There’s no ludicrous paint job or awful panel gaps and the interior has been (mostly) left untouched. Unfortunately, the 1.5L four-banger hasn’t mutated into a quad-turbo monstrosity to match the way it looks, but it does have headers and an intake. It’s pretty much on par with the Super Sport. Basically.
If anything, it’s more like a body kit inspired by Bugatti than a replica. Of course, that’s just our opinion. If this wannabe super car Civic seduced you with it’s uh… curves, you’ll be glad to know that it’s on sale on ebay. Yep. This amazing piece of rolling art can be yours for a fraction of the cost of a Veyron.
You’re still going to end up paying over $8,000 for an automatic civic with 168,000 miles, but hey. Can you really put a price on being unique?
