It’s Race Day in Lime Rock!

It’s race day here in Lime Rock Park and teams are concerned with the race traffic and the high track temperature here in Lime Rock Park. On Thursday I gave you my initial impressions of the track but if you need to see things to believe them, we have a great onboard lap courtesy of the Extreme Speed Motorsports Team.

Their chassis, the Acura AXR 038, makes 500HP from a twin turbo V6. Yesterday in qualifying that was good enough for third and fourth on the grid. Their best time during qualifying was a mere 46.729 seconds! That’s massively quick, but the time of that lap doesn’t do the work justice. Take a look at the lap and how a driver has to find his ideal racing line whilst avoiding traffic. Also don’t forget how hot it is and the toll that takes on a driver and his tires.
