Koenigsegg Issues 1st Ever Recall…For 1 Car!
My love for the bonkers world that is Koenigsegg knows no bounds. It’s a deep unadulterated love that should only be reserved for a fine wine or a glorious sunset overlooking some great vista.
In other words, it’s probably not that healthy, but who cares, I love their cars. Especially the sound they make, it is a combination of some ferocious thunder and a howl of a werewolf. The car is just epic.
However much I love them though, doesn’t mean they aren’t subject to the same principles that all other auto makers are subject to. It pains me to say, but Koenigsegg just issued its first ever recall. And it was for a grand total of…. one car.
Yes, you read that right, a single Koenigsegg has had a recall issued for it. Ok so granted there aren’t that many in existence but still, one car? Really? That warranted a recall? Wouldn’t that just be an issue with the car? Like it just broke or something?
The problem stems from a missing Tire Pressure Monitoring sensor that tells you if your tires need inflation. Koenigsegg already contacted the owner and fixed the problem, but it still warranted a NHTSA recall form to be filled out.
The best line is this, “Describe how the recall population is different from any similar vehicles not subject to this notification: We only have one US car delivered since 2011.”
That was Koenigseggs response, well we don’t have a population, we just have one. This has to be the best and most ridiculous recall in history. Thankfully, this doesn’t tarnish my thoughts on Koenigsegg one bit, if anything, it’s made it stronger just by the sheer ridiculousness of this recall.
