Kremer Porsche 930 is One Red-hot Machine
Stunning Eighties throwback is just one of 160 Kremer 930s brought over to the U.S. And now, it’s hitting the auction block in October.
Do you know what makes for a perfect fall day? Falling leaves of red, orange, purple, and gold dotting the scenic forest roads is an excellent start. The crisp, chilled air carries the appropriate gravitas, not to mention the autumn sun casting a golden light down upon the black asphalt. All that’s needed to complete the scene is you and your car of choice, whether it be a McLaren, a Supra, or a Corvette.
Or, perhaps, a classic Porsche like this Kremer 930 flatnose we found while perusing the consignments set to hit the block of Carlisle Auctions’ fall event in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, October 3 and 4. You can just imagine seeing this machine trace the corners on such an autumn day, transporting you back to the Eighties in style.
Under that glorious Brilliant Red widebody and flatnose is a 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six and five-speed manual having logged 12,675 miles over three decades since it arrived on these shores when Top Gun took to the cinematic skies. The Porsche is also just one of 160 coupes and convertibles to cross the Atlantic between 1982 and 1989, and among 948 ever made during the bulk of the decade of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.
And while there are no photos of the interior in the listing, we do know the Porsche has a $5,000 sound system at the ready, in case you wanted to listen to “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young or “Boys of Summer” by Don Henley instead of the siren song of the turbo-six behind your head with the black fabric top down and the cool air rushing past your hair.
As we stated earlier, the Porsche is just one of the many cars and trucks set to cross the block during Carlisle Auctions’ two-day affair, where over 500 vehicles are expected to go for big bucks. The auction itself is just a small part of the Fall Carlisle, of course, set for October 2 through 6 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. There will be a massive flea market, a car lot outside of the auction for those who want to buy directly from the sellers, and even a trivia night to test your knowledge, automotive or otherwise.
Tickets to the Fall Carlisle extravaganza are $35 for a full pass, $12 for a single-day admission Wednesday through Saturday, $7 for Sunday; children under 12 enter free with paying adult.
