LA Auto Show 2019 Packed with Exciting New Vehicle Reveals
Whopping 65 brand new models are scheduled to debut at iconic LA Auto Show beginning November 18.
Every year, the LA Auto Show offers up quite a few new vehicle debuts. But 2019 promises to house one of the largest groups of unveilings in the prestigious event’s long-running history. It all kicks off November 18-21, when the show opens its doors to members of the press and automotive industry. Then, November 22-December 1, the general public can get out and see all of these exciting new products up close and personal.
This year, that includes an incredible 65 new vehicles waiting to be unveiled. Many of which obviously haven’t been named or even teased yet. And who can blame those automakers for not wanting to ruin the surprise? Regardless, we already know a lot about some of these exciting debuts. So we went ahead and assembled our favorites for your viewing pleasure right here.
Audi RS 6 Avant
For far too long now, Americans have largely been shut out of the wagon market. And that’s a shame, really, because many of us would rather haul our families in a speedy wagon than some boring SUV. But now, Audi aims to throw us wagon lovers a bone by selling us their incredibly capable RS 6 Avant. Already on sale across the pond, this hot wagon packs a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 pumping out 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Driving all four wheels, that’s good enough for an impressive 3.6-second 0-60 time and a top speed of 189 mph.
Audi E-Tron Sportback
The Audi E-Tron electric SUV (pictured) has been on sale for a while now, but now the automaker is adding a “coupe” version in the form of the E-Tron Sportback. Other than a sleeker rear section, the Sportback is essentially identical to the regular E-Tron, save for its interesting new headlight technology. Audi says that the Sportback will come packing new Digital Matrix headlights “with unprecedented precision through the use of of around one million micro-mirrors.”
BMW M2 CS
When the excellent BMW M2 Competition arrived, it did so packing a detuned version of the M3/M4’s twin-turbo inline-six cylinder engine. In that form, it produced 405 hp versus the larger cars’ 425 ponies. Now, BMW is righting that wrong by dropping the M4 Competition’s 444 hp mill directly into the M2 and calling it the CS. Even better, it comes standard with a good old fashioned 6-speed manual transmission, or optional 7-speed dual-clutch auto. It’s also faster than the M2 Competition by 0.2-seconds to 60 mph, no matter which tranny you choose.
BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe
The regular M8 Gran Coupe is one of the most stylish big sedans on the market and packs 600 hp of grunt from its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. But the Competition version takes things to a slightly higher level, with a 617 hp upgrade. That boost shaves a tenth of a second off the car’s 0-60 time, taking it to 3.0-seconds flat. But the Competition Gran Coupe also comes with a freer-flowing exhaust, dark exterior accents, unique wheels, and fancier Merino leather and microfiber interior.
Alfa Romeo Giulia
Alfa’s Giulia sedan has only been on sale in the U.S. for four years now, and still looks fresh on the outside. Thus, the brand is only overhauling the interior for the 2020 model year, according to Car Scoops. Still, the new model packs a host of welcome technology upgrades. Including expanded smartphone functions, a new infotainment system, and over-the-air updates.
Alfa Romeo Stelvio
Basically just an SUV version of the Giulia, the Stelvio is also receiving the same interior updates as its shorter brother. Both will also get nicer materials for the dash, steering wheel, and shifter, along with a new 8.8-inch touchscreen.
This is just a small sampling of the many cool new models scheduled to debut at the 2019 LA Auto Show. So stay tuned, because we here at 6Speed Online will be bringing you live coverage from SoCal as its happening!
