Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Debuts at Pebble Beach
Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 is hardcore special edition celebration of Lamborghini’s founding in 1963.
It was only a few weeks ago that we first heard of the Lamborghini Avendator SVJ. Of course, that first time being when it smashed the production car lap record at the Nurburgring. Indeed, it does make sense, that, with 770 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque from its 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine, the SVJ would be insanely quick. Of course, that’s only part of the equation.
The SVJ moniker stands for ‘Super Veloce Jota.’ Super veloce means ‘super fast’ in Italian, and, indeed, the standard Aventador SV is a brutally quick car. However, the SVJ takes it even further. Jota, the pronunciation of the letter ‘J’ in Italian, refers to the original Lamborghini Muira Jota, a homologated racer built to FIA Appendix J racing regulations. Naturally, it’s very fitting that the latest Lambo to be adorned with the Jota badge is a world-record-setting hypercar.
The SVJ weighs just 3,362 pounds. Impressive considering the standard Aventador is closer to 3,900 pounds, with fluids. Those Italians sure get tricky when it comes to quoted stats and figures. Still, the intensive diet comes from increased carbon fiber usage, lighter wheels, and redesigned body work.
Now, Lamborghini has released the SVJ 63, celebrating 55 years of Lamborghini. Founded in 1963, the brand has certainly built a name for itself in the exotic car realm. Each iteration of each model more exciting and desirable than the last.
Of course, the Aventador SVJ 63 is an even more special edition of the already very special SVJ. There will be just 63 examples made, and all feature an even more carbon fiber intensive construction. SVJ prices start at $517,700, and SVJ 63 pricing is TBA, though, we suspect your best bet is to call the local Lamborghini dealership and beg.
