Lamborghini Lanzador Concept was Inspired by UFOs

Taking inspiration from those above, the Lanzador EV concept is truly out of this world.

The all-electric grand tourer that Lamborghini held in front of speed enthusiasts during this year’s Monterey Car Week was legitimately inspired by spaceships. Like many of its predecessors, the Lanzador will be an all-wheel drive EV, with a single motor powering each axle.

The webpage for the new EV indicates that it wasn’t just the outside that had extraterrestrial inspiration. On the inside, the driver and the passenger would be separated by a center console, making for a “jet-like” experience.

Lamborghini’s Dinamica Veicolo Integrata, or “dynamic vehicle control” in English, will be a new version, aiming to improve the overall driving experience for drivers. It’ll be a new way for the automaker to test the new system for future models – both fully electric and otherwise. It will be fully customizable too, so drivers can make the experience their own.

The Lanzador will set a new benchmark for performance EVs

While official battery range, top speed, or pricing have yet to be announced, Lamborghini is aiming to making one thing very clear: performance EVs will be looking to them for inspiration.

Performance EVs are still in their infancy, with the Tesla Model S Plaid and Lucid Air being the only two on the market that are truly performance-driven, but that is quickly changing.

The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore has finally landed at dealerships, and Ferrari even has something in the works – but the Lanzador has its sights on first place. Lamborghini doesn’t have a fully-electric model currently for sale, but the company has previously announced a $2 billion investment into an all-electric future.

The Lanzador is unfortunately destined to remain a concept, but is Lamborghini’s way of showing off what’s to come starting 2028.
