Lewis Hamilton Reunites with His Six F1 Championship Cars

One of the greatest drivers of all-time finally gets to take a trip down memory lane.

Lewis Hamilton is a name that has become synonymous with racing. If you love racing, you know this man. You might love him or hate him, but that doesn’t change the impact that he has made on this sport in recent years. Some have described the British racing driver as being the greatest of all-time in his respective discipline. If you look at this man’s accolades, it easy to understand why. Few have managed to achieve in a lifetime what he has managed in a single season.

He currently holds 6 Formula 1 championship titles, has scored the most all-time career points, and has the most all-time pole positions. This is just the start of his success. Even after clinching his third straight world championship during the 2019 season, Hamilton recently stated “I’m going to be a machine in 2020” when speaking in relation to upcoming season. It is this level of perseverance and determination that has gotten Hamilton to the level he is at today. As encouraging as it is to keep this energy moving forward, sometimes it is good to take a step back as well and appreciate the progress. Thanks to the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team on YouTube, we join Hamilton in a moment of reflection.

“I remember doing the seat fit for my first season with Mercedes… [now] we are embarking on the 8th year together,” says Hamilton at the start of the video. It seems time flies by quickly when you are dominating a sport. However, these past years have been nothing but happy moments for the British racing driver. He states that his time with Mercedes has been the “best period of time in my life.”

In relation to how he got to the successful position he is at today, Hamilton states that his sacrifices and obstacles were no different that anybody else. It all boils down to one thing for the driver and that is “work ethic” or “how much do you want it?”. In order to achieve his goals, he told himself “do you want it? Then do the fricking work”.

It seems that Hamilton is always striving to learn more about his sport and how to make it better and more diverse. While the still young legend at age 35 doesn’t see himself leaving Formula 1 anytime soon, he states he does have other passions and desires outside racing. He states toward the end of the video that there is “so many things to do in this beautiful thing called life”.

While this video might have a very melancholy overtone by the way it was directed and shot, we think this type of content to is necessary every now and then to bring us back down to earth. In the spirit of this, we take this as a word of advice from the ideology of a true great of our generation: “I’m always looking forward, never really looking back”.
