LFA II: Bring It On, Lexus!
When production of the Lexus halo car LFA ended, a big question was whether Lexus will work on the next supercar. Officially Lexus has never commented on this, but a recent article on Automotive News might have given us some clues.
Lexus Executive Vice President Mark Templin commented that Toyota Chief Executive Officer Akio Toyoda, being a huge racing fan, supports the idea of LFA II and that every generation should have their own supercar, like the current generation with the LFA
This is big news if it’s true, but Templin’s comment is not without a lot of ambiguity. We know Toyota and Lexus come out with awesome cars, but it seems like they have no fixed timeline or commitment on when people will see a hint of the next supercar.
Nonetheless it is still good news that Lexus is pushing the boundary. After all, the decade long LFA project provided Lexus with a lot of cutting edge technologies that we start to see in their regular lineups, from full TCT dash display to carbon fiber construction.
Bring it on, Lexus, you know the next generation is already looking forward to their supercar!
