Like a Sir, Bentley’s Mulsanne Speed
There are times that like a boss is the right phrase, and then there are times that you need a bit more elegance to go with your Rick Ross impressions. In those times, it transforms to like a sir! And that’s exactly what Bentley have done with its newest car, the Mulsanne Speed.
Bentley took its top tier car, the Mulsanne, and shoved a whopping great twin turbo 6 ¾ L V8 under the hood which makes a very respectable 530 hp, and 811 ft-lbs of torque! Or in real math, the same amount as a locomotive. All those figures mean that even with the monumental weight of this car, it can still get up to 60 mph in less than five seconds and go on to reach a top speed of 190 mph.
It’s strikingly ridiculous how Bentley’s engineers have stoked this great beast to pull off these numbers and then somehow increase the engines efficiency by 13%. I think they’ve achieved this purely by black magic coming down from the hills of Germany, steeped in ancient tradition and only passed down from blacksmith to blacksmith until it reached this car. Or the Bentley engineers are just crazy smart. One of the two.
The Mulsanne Speed will officially debut at the Pars Motor Show on October 2nd and according to Bentley, will be able to be delivered by this winter and will have a massive list of options for the discerning speed freak to choose from. My favorite is the rifled exhaust option. I’m not sure what that means, but it sounds awesome and I need it in my life.
