Maserati MC12 Corsa Sings at Spa-Francorchamps
The Maserati MC12 was never a particularly beautiful car, but the noises it makes are a testament to how much a machine can sweeten every individual air molecule colliding with your ear drums. This clip from Marchettino would suffice as a hallowed audio file for the most discerning audiophiles.
The video features a Maserati MC12 Corsa powered by a 745-hp 6.0L V12. This car was designed in the image of the Maserati MC12 GT1, albeit for private track-day use. Only a dozen of these MC12s were built — 12 were sold to customers, and the other three were used for research and publicity.
Much like Ferrari FXX owners, Maserati MC12 Corsa owners are only allowed to use their cars on organized track days. Maserati stores and maintains the cars, so seeing an MC12 Corsa on the track is a rare opportunity, indeed.
