Matt Farah Drives New Porsche Taycan on TheSmokingTire
The host spends more time giggling and focusing on driving than talking during the review. That says a lot more than you think.
Well, it’s official. Journalists have begun releasing content in relation to the Porsche Taycan. If you haven’t noticed, we have also done our best to stay up to date with the flashy new Porsche. Considering this will most likely be one of the most important cars to talk about for the next coming years, we are glad we get to remain informed.
Porsche knows it has a lot to prove when it comes to their first all-electric sports sedan. There is a lot to prove and competition in the segment is surprisingly stiff even for being so niche. So the real question begins, what do actual people outside of the marketing and social media department in Germany think about the car? Will it live up to the hype and hard-to-swallow price point? We tune to Matt Farah from TheSmokingTire YouTube channel to tell us more on his first drive with the car.
We won’t bore you with all the technical details and numbers that we have already shown you before in relation to this vehicle. However, it is wise to know that this is a Turbo S model. It’s the fastest and most Taycan offered.
As Farah drives off for the first time, he launches the AWD Porsche and it goes like hell. Farah describes the acceleration by stating that “my head hit the headrest hard and my eyes when into the back of my head”. We believe him because it looks violently fast from a stop in the video.
Farah, not one to be easily impressed by just any fast vehicle, was at a loss for words when describing the Taycan. As a viewer, it’s hard to get an idea of speed simply based on video footage. Even more so when the car literally doesn’t make sound. However, when Farah is going flat out through the Los Angeles canyons, you can tell right away. He says, “it’s extraordinary the way it gathers speed”. The way the car seems to simply grip through corners is truly impressive.
The biggest takeaway from the video comes in the very end when Farah is making his conclusions about the car. He states that this car wasn’t made by people that are trying to find a way to avoid driving your car. Instead, a company that wants and cares to “enhance your driving experience”. Take that, Tesla.
