Motul Introduces Oils Specially Made for All Classic Rides
Whether you’ve got a thundering Corvette V8 or a high-revving ’90s Ferrari, new Motul Classic Line will protect all classic engines.
Some of us have some cool classics in the garage. Think Aston Martin DB5, any 427 Corvette, Porsche 944 Turbo, Acura NSX. Driving any of these is a dream, a trip back in time when it was just you, your ride, and the open road.
Yet, caring for such classics can be hard. Sure, modern motor oils offer plenty on the table. However, older engines might not be as pleased as hoped. For them, Motul has a solution: the Classic Line.
Every member of the Motul Classic Line includes high-zinc and molybdenum among their additives for decreased friction and more power. From there, era-specific additives will keep your the metals and gasket materials of your engine very happy. For supercharged and turbocharged Eighties machines, Motul Classic Eighties 10W40 will stick to engine’s cylinder walls like glue, protecting them no matter how often you start them up.
If your high-revving Nineties classic needs more love under the hood, the Nineties 10W30 can handle those cold starts before heading out to Radwood. Both Eighties and Nineties Classic Line oils are the first from Motul to include high ZDDP and moly to keep such classics happy at home and on the road.
For older classics, Motul’s got them covered, too. Their Classic Oil 20W50 boasts an additive package with 1800 ppm of ZDDP, plus a medium level of detergent for engines built from 1950 through the waning days of the muscle car era. It can even be used to break-in rebuilt motors.
Meanwhile, your oldest classics from before 1950 will love the straight-weight Classic Oil SAE 30 and SAE 50. The monograde oils provide low detergent for four-stroke gas and diesel machines.
Finally, seventies engines with flat tappet cams have a newly revised 2100 Classic Oil 15W50. No matter how they breathe, they’ll enjoy improved protection.
Each member of the Motul Classic Line wears special packaging, featuring Motul’s classic logo. Even the metal containers harken back to when motor oil was packaged as such. You can find out where to buy the oil at motul.com/us/en-US, or shop online at summitracing.com and eeuroparts.com.
