MSO Atlantic Blue McLaren 720S Bows in Geneva
Debuting alongside numerous stunning new models, this one-off McLaren 720S raises the bar even further.
The 2018 Geneva Motor Show has brought us a number of exciting automotive debuts, from the Toyota Supra racer to the electric Rimac C_Two. All of which somewhat overshadows this amazing, bespoke McLaren 720S that also made its first public appearance. And that’s a shame. The unique McLaren Special Operations (MSO) ride, commissioned specifically for the 88th annual show, was built to celebrate the one year anniversary of MSO-crafted second-generation Super Series models.
The special MSO McLaren 720S sports a deep, stunning Atlantic Blue paint job coupled with a classic Saddle Tan leather interior. McLaren Special Operations’ latest creation comes exactly one year after their first bespoke project. That stunner, the second-generation Super Series 720S Velocity, sported Volcano Red and Nerello Red paint.
The Atlantic Blue body provides a fresh interpretation of the ‘shrink-wrapped’ design language introduced for the 720S. Which features innovative aerodynamics, smoothly sculpted surfaces and iconic double-hinged dihedral doors. It perfectly showcases both the extent of MSO’s bespoke craftsmanship and the MSO Defined range of personalization choices.
“Every 720S produced by MSO is elegant and distinctive and a large part of that is because they are different in some way from all the others, with each car a unique expression of the owner’s taste,” said Ansar Ali, Managing Director of McLaren Special Operations, “At MSO, we celebrate that difference by showing cars like the Atlantic Blue 720S – a world of McLaren possibilities made stunningly real.”
The Atlantic Blue McLaren 720S stands apart from the pack thanks to not only its newly developed paint, but also with an interior swathed in Saddle Tan leather with Slate Grey stitching. Additional unique interior treatments include Carbon Black leather and Grey Alcantara accents, along with bespoke floor mats.
On the outside, the Atlantic Blue paint is accented by Dark Palladium exterior finishes, gloss finish Visual Carbon Fiber, and Zircon window surrounds. The stainless-steel sports exhaust has Titanium finishers and the twin-spoke lightweight wheels sport a Graphite Grey finish. The brakes, like all McLaren 720S models, are carbon-ceramic. But in this case, they carry black calipers with McLaren branding.
This special, MSO-built McLaren 720S carries a price tag of £281,260, or $390,867. And it serves as yet another shining example of what McLaren Special Operations is capable of!
