Since its introduction late last year, the Scrambler has been an absolute hit for Ducati. Thanks to its handsome looks, its comfortable positioning, its lower price (for a Duc), and its go-anywhere attitude, sales have been off the charts. But there’s still a slight hitch in this being a bike for expanding into new customers: the power.

The Classic Scrambler houses an 803cc L-Twin that puts out 75 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of torque. That’s not, by any stretch of the imagination, an outrageous amount of power, but there are still plenty of newbies or people who don’t care as much about performance who would be uncomfortable with it. So, Ducati solved that by making the Sixty2, a Scrambler with half the power.

The Sixty2 looks pretty much the same but has a two-cylinder, air-cooled 399cc engine. That’s puts it down to 41 horsepower and 25 lb-ft of torque. An issue many people will likely have is the price. At $7995, it’s only $500 cheaper than the base Scrambler. It’s also only seven pounds lighter (403 pounds). Seat positioning is the same, it’s has a slightly bigger wheelbase.

Will it be a bit of a chugger? Yeah, probably, but it’ll still probably be fun to whip around, and the lower numbers opens it up to more people.
