The New Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster Really Rocks!
Who doesn’t love convertible Aston Martins? They are the pinnacle of cool. They ooze sex, money and usually old money or investment bankers.
But what happens when you take Aston’s baby car, the Vantage, drop a massive V12 that’s good for 565 horsepower and over 200 mph, and then chop the top? You get this. A glorious assault on one’s senses.
Between the drop dead gorgeous lines, and the amazing performance, this is truly one of the coolest cars ever. A few years ago on TopGear, Clarkson reviewed the V12 Vantage and said it was just brilliant, but that he thought it would be the end of that type of car. The big engine’d grand tourer.
Five years have passed and we are seeing more and more of these cars get built and I for one am happy just to know that I live in a world that this car exists. Aston may be about to release a whole new lineup of cars very soon, but this Vantage might just stay as my favorite of all time.
The car has a striking beauty to it. The long hood, the aggressive front fascia, and the side profile makes you weak at the knees. Aston Martin has always been able to make impressive looking cars, except maybe for the Lagonda.
The car has 457 lb-ft of torque to propel it to 60 in just over 4 seconds, and it comes standard with carbon ceramic brakes to halt the roadster from its top speed very quickly. It will go on sale later this year and will be priced out of most people’s ballpark at $200,000 plus.
