New Era of Gumpert Supercar After Acquisition
Last week the auto industry caught wind that the small batch German supercar company Gumpert, who builds the Apollo, has been acquired by a Chinese investment firm. Ideal TeamVenture out of Hong Kong who picked up De Tomaso a while back makes a big move bailing out Gumpert from bankruptcy. Ideal has already renamed the company Apollo made plans to head to the Geneva Auto Show with their next concept codenamed Arrow this upcoming March.
Apollo Automobil GMbH now has the backing to again build one of the fastest production cars in the world as it once did on the beginning of this century. Our buddies over at CarBuzz have shared with us that a new website is in the works as is their next project. No definite schedule of releasing the website though I can be patient till Geneva without seeing leaked pics however I’ll know they’ll be released in the next month or so.
Exciting time in the hypercar world with big investors letting these automotive masterminds design their hearts out. I’ll be curious to see what type of powertrain will be in the Apollo Arrow at the Geneva show because it’s clear today sticking some electric motors on your supercar takes it into a new era of hypercar territory. What do you think Apollo Automobil GMbH is brewing for the Geneva show? How do you think the investors will change the company?
