Nissan isn’t quite through with the GT-R. It’s hybrid successor is still quite a ways out and, according to this new information, there’s still some speed left in the current model. A lot of it.

The GT-R NISMO is the first special edition GT-R to actually get a power bump. Motor Authority reports the car will make 595 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.  Your garden variety GT-R only makes 545 horsepower, probably because it doesn’t have larger turbos and a revised exhaust like the NISMO car does.

No, it won’t beat the 918 around the Nurburgring, but it does pretty well for itself with a time of 7:08. More info will be available as soon as Nissan officially unveils the car at the Tokyo Auto Show later this week.
