Exclusive Spy Shots: The New Acura NSX Might Not Be Vaporware
Here’s the thing, I honestly don’t think that Acura will ever actually be done with the new NSX. I know we’ve seen prototypes testing, concept cars, and about a million other pieces of information suggesting that there is an NSX coming to production sometime soon.
Even Acura has it slated in its press releases to be coming out next year. But, the first NSX concept was brought out in 2010, it was first talked about in 2007, then the project went to Honda’s racing development team and the production car was shelved.
Then in 2011, Honda said it was working on the NSX revival again, and in 2012 we saw the first concept of the new NSX concept, or at least what we think the car will look like.
Then in 2013 Honda debuted another version of the concept, and then another, then a prototype with a revised drivetrain, then they said they wanted to take it to LeMans, then another concept!
Which pretty much brings us to today, where we once again are teased that there will be a new NSX coming out with these photos taken at the ‘Ring.
Honda, Acura and Senna fanboys, of which I’m part of the latter will cry foul and insist that there will be a new NSX, but from the first thought and word about a new NSX coming about, it’s been almost decade, and we still don’t have it.
If Honda and Acura make good on their promises, then I will be the first in line to eat my words. Until then though, these teasers, spy shots, concepts and anything else are just mere vaporware. I’m waiting Honda, prove me wrong.
