One-of-One Pagani Zonda Crashes in England
Custom-built car valued at over $2 mil suffers considerable damage.
What’s the best approach to supercar ownership? Is it to baby them, store them, and only drive them on sunny days, or two go out there and enjoy the heck out of them even if it poses a great risk? Well, regardless of how you feel, it’s safe to say the owner of this Pagani Zonda is one of the latter.
According to the BBC, the one-off Italian supercar crashed along the A27 highway in Tangmere, England while participating in a sort of sports car gathering. It’s not clear whether the driver was acting recklessly, but judging from the images, the road conditions seem far from ideal for a high-power, rear-wheel drive machine like the Zonda.
The Sussex police claim most of the damage was caused when the vehicle impacted a guardrail, which caused the Zonda to spin and smash part of its rear end and other bits. CarBuzz gathered more information on this accident and found out that the collision happened on route to a track day hosted by the Pagani’s owner.
It’s a pity really, as this specific vehicle is one of the very first-generation Zondas to roll off the factory, and even went back for a full overhaul and brand-new paint job in 2013. It looks like there’s another trip to Italy in this bad boy’s near future!
