Opulence, the Orange County Auto Show Has It
The recently concluded Orange County Auto Show has quickly become one of my favorite manufacturer driven auto shows, largely due in part to the willingness of local dealerships, like Lamborghini Newport Beach, to bring out their best vehicles for everyone to enjoy.
New to this year’s show was the duPont Registry Live experience; a collection of some of the most exotic vehicles to date, including a $2.5 million, carbon fiber and gold Mansory Bugatti Veyron Linea Vincero d’Oro (that was a mouthful). This booth alone was worth the $12 admission fee.
Another car that stood out was a McLaren MP4-12C, courtesy McLaren Newport Beach, dressed up in James Hunt’s 1976 Formula 1 livery in celebration of the recently released movie Rush. Surprisingly, this McLaren was not a customer car, but the official demo car of McLaren Newport Beach. It just goes to show you that these guys really are automotive enthusiasts!
While the Orange County Auto Show is small compared to other shows, like the L.A. Auto Show, its intimate setting and ease of access to manufacturers puts it on the top of my list for best car shows in Southern California.
