Pimpin’ Ain’t Cheap: The 24k Gold Austin Healey
While it may be easy, pimpin’ is certainly not cheap. For your consideration, this 1958 Austin Healey 100-6. It was built in-house for the London Motor Show with the specific intention of blowing away all the other marques in attendance. Mechanically, the only real difference between this and the more pedestrian 100’s is disc brakes. It’s been clocked up to 120 mph and has seen almost 40,000 miles.
So what makes it so special? Well, all of its details are dipped in 24k gold. The knobs in the cockpit are actually made of ivory and the seats are trimmed with Connolly leather and mink. What? Yes, mink. Also, it cost four times more than a standard 100-6, which wasn’t cheap to begin with. So how much would it cost you to re-live British old-school pimpin’, mink and gold style? Cue Dr. Evil… ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
Seriously. Check it out on ebay, here.
