Porsche Adds a Performance Pair to the New Panamera Range

A Mad Nurburgring lap record smashing 2025 Turbo S E-Hybrid & Good Old GTS Join Porsche’s New Panamera Line-up.

Porsche has added a crazy 771 horsepower Turbo S E-Hybrid and returned the GTS model to its New Panamera lineup. The mighty $228,495 plug-in hybrid sedan gains a bigger 21.8-kWh battery for longer all-electric driving. The new $156,195 2025 GTS gets a 493 horse biturbo 4-liter V8. That’s 20 more HP than before.

The roll-out comes a week after a then unnamed New Panamera lapped the Nürburgring in a sedan record 7 minutes 24.17 seconds. Turns out that it was indeed a new Turbo S-E Hybrid that smashed its predecessor’s mark by some six seconds. Now we can confirm that the plug-in-hybrid V8 delivers a handy 771 HP go with that bigger battery.

New Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is 81 HP Up

The flagship Panamera’s enhanced twin-turbocharged 4-liter V8 replaces the previous twin-scroll units with single-scroll turbochargers. To maintain higher average peak boost pressure for 591 petrol horsepower all on its own. Add the 187 HP electric motor stashed into the transmission to deliver that 771 HP total. Or 81 HP up on the old car.

Peak torque is also up 96 lb.-ft to 737 pound-feet, while an improved 8 speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox brings ‘optimized power-transmitting surfaces and a higher thermal load capacity.’ Porsche claims the new Turbo S E-Hybrid will crush 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and top 202 mph. That’s a handy two-tenths quicker and 8 mph faster.

New Panamera Has a Most Customisable Cabin

The new 45% bigger 21.8 kWh battery charges faster. Regenerative braking is up 19 to 88 kW. EPA electric range is to be confirmed but expect around 30 miles. Porsche single-chamber air spring Active Ride suspension, rear-axle steering and 17.3-inch and16.1-inch carbon-ceramic brakes are standard. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are optional

Turbo S E-Hybrid has a unique rear bumper and bronze exhaust tips. A carbon-fiber aero kit adds front air blades, side skirts, and a rear diffuser, front lip spoiler and a Gurney flap on its active rear spoiler. To up downforce by 132 pounds at 124 mph. A most customisable cabin has a curved display and a 10.9-inch touchscreen.

GTS Also Returns a Year Later

The New Panamera GTS model returns after a year on ice with a 20-horse stronger 493 HP biturbo 4-liter V-8. A tenth quicker to 60 mph at 3.6 seconds and good for speed is 188 mph, sound is tuned by a standard sports exhaust. Add tuned air suspension, lower spring rates, beefier anti-roll bars and 0.4 inch lower ride height.
