Hang 10 with Porsche and Almond Surfboard’s Collection
If you love surfing as much as you love your Porsche, Almond has the collection for you.
If I asked you to describe southern California in one word, most people might say “Disneyland.” Others might say “traffic,” or “summer.” A good handful would likely smile while staring toward the ocean and say, “Surfing.” For those who love surfing with the same intensity as they love 1960s Porsche 911 901s, the automaker partnered with California-based Almond Surfboards to make a limited-edition collection of boards to honor Porsche’s influence on the surfing culture of that era.
The collection is called, “Single Fins & Air Cooled Engines.” The single-fin boards can come in any authentic 1963 Porsche color (Bahama Yellow, Polo Red, Irish Green, or the Pink Pig livery) and can be one of two sizes. The smaller board, a Cash-Yew II, is 7′ by 10″. The larger board, the Surf Thumb, is 9’11” (serendipitously – not on purpose). The standard boards in this collection will have the number 63 to pay homage to the 901.
Of course, the large black “Porsche” moniker is on the center of the board. Each board is individually numbered, and marked, and reads, “Made in California.”
“With Almond Surfboards and their bespoke approach to building custom-made surfboards in California, we couldn’t have found a better partner to translate the unique Porsche Lifestyle to the waves,” said Karsten von Engeln, President and CEO of Porsche Design America.
But wait! There’s more…
When you aren’t catching waves with your $4,500 to $5,500 board, the collaboration resulted in some “akaw” apparel. You can choose between trucker hats and caps ($55), long-sleeved shirts, a wide array of t-shirts, and hoodies (costing between $55 to $155). There’s also a wicked leather keychain and iron-on patch, too.
“Porsche exemplifies that blend of timeless aesthetics and precision engineering, making them a perfect partner as we both strive to create products that stand the test of time,” wrote Almond Surfboard founder Dave Allee. “This collaboration is a celebration of shared values—craftsmanship, innovation, and a passion for creating lasting experiences.”
You can browse the collection here. Only 200 boards can be made to order, so if you want one, get crackin’, brah!
