Porsche Design Introduces Massive Backyard LED TV

Porsche’s cars are famous. Their engineering is well respected and their design is timeless. What people don’t know, however, is that Porsche has another arm of their company dedicated to design. They’re probably best known for the creation of their stylish accessories like their painfully posh sunglasses and that incredibly expensive Porsche blackberry. While those particular badges of excess and style are cool, they don’t really compare to the C’SEED 201 Outdoor TV. At 201 inches, it’s the worlds biggest flat-screen.

Personally, I think it looks a lot like the Monolith from 2001: A Space Odessey. They’re not too far apart. Both are black obelisks of high technology that few of us will ever get to see. While the C’SEED 201 might not be the trigger for the next stage in human evolution, it’s definitely a huge step forward in the human ability to build bigger and better televisions. Until now, the only option for getting an image this big outside has been a projector. No more washed out images with this baby. With this you’d be able to see every movie under the sun. Literally. Because you’ll be outside.

Even if you don’t have a 356 Speedster and a mansion, this TV is pretty inspiring. The C’SEED 201 is probably a while out from being something that normal people can purchase, but knowing that we have two story tall televisions that live in the backyard makes me feel like we’re living in the future. It’s also nice to know that a part of Porsche builds things that aren’t cars. It’s even nicer to know that when they do, they’re doing something awesome.
