Porsche Design Launches Stylish Contour Sunglasses in Time for Memorial Day
Porsche Design’s Contour sunglasses are a literal work of art that promise to make a stylish statement this summer.
Memorial Day is the day we honor our nation’s heroes for making the ultimate sacrifice, but Memorial Day weekend is also a time when Americans generally “kick-off” the coming summer each year, as it’s the first warm-weather weekend of the year, for most anyway. It’s also a great time to look for a stylish pair of new sunglasses to get you through the warm weather season, and as always, Porsche Design has a myriad number of excellent options – including its newly launched P’ 8924 Contour sunglasses.
The limited-edition Contour sunglasses look more like a work of art than a pair of shades, but that’s because they were designed precisely the same way. Porsche Design wanted to create eyewear that looks like it was drawn up by the hands of a talented artist, with one continuous, sweeping stroke, and needless to say, they successfully accomplished that task. The Contour is quite literally one of the more futuristic yet simplistic eyewear designs we’ve come across, and it’s rather stunning to see.
As is the case with all Porsche Design eyewear, the materials used in the Contour’s construction are also top-notch – in this case, 100 percent titanium. The lens borders are milled from solid titanium, with a titanium wire outline. Two colorways are available to purchase – palladium with olive-colored lenses, and black with gold-colored lens edging and blue/black lenses.
In addition to looking amazing, the Contour also provides UV400 protection, which absorbs UV rays up to a wavelength of 400 meters, and the lenses are packing anti-glare technology – perfect for driving around on a sunny holiday weekend. The Contour is also finished with a hard polycarbonate coating for impact resistance and a dual coating to prevent scratches.
Porsche Design’s Contour sunglasses are available now at Porsche Design stores and the company’s website. The Contour retails for $1,200 but is limited to just 911 pairs, so you’ll probably want to secure your new summer sunglasses soon.
