Porsche Design & Patrick Dempsey Present ‘Hooks’ Eyewear Series
‘Ready to follow your vision,’ Porsche Design Hooks Series brings back P’8478 ‘Hooks’ frame for a modern age.
Not too long ago, Porsche Design teamed up with actor, entrepreneur, racer, and Porsche fan Patrick Dempsey. The mission: deliver a full range of sunglasses for all Porsche fans to add to their wardrobe. Back in January, Dempsey used his face to present the first of the Porsche Design 2021 Eyewear Collection, the P’8688.
Come April 1, the next piece from the collection will drop: the Hooks Series.
“Ready to follow your vision,” the new Hooks Series brings back the P’8478 ‘Hooks’ frame for a modern age befitting Porsche’s timelessness. The result is a pair of frames capable of dropping tons of style with minimal effort. The P’8920 is the classic aviator, the P’8919 squares-off the aviator’s round curves.
Both sunglasses “exude a masculine and technoid look,” where “the interaction of various dimensions complements the overall concept” of each frame. The result? A hint of futurism mixed with the retro (like the 992-era 911). Whatever frame you choose, though, all are crafted from stainless steel manufactured to Porsche Design’s meticulous standards. And just like Porsche’s top-tier performance models, the Hooks Series uses high-performance RXP plastic temple tips.
Each of the Hooks Series sunglasses come with tons of style and comfort as a result. For the ultimate in style, though, the P’8920 D covers the stainless steel in gold. And what looks great with gold? Green, like the green tinted lenses this specific model wears. If you want to look like Dempsey, though, the P’8920 A’s smoky gray lenses and black frame are what you’re after. Meanwhile, the P’8920 C brings the blue sky to your eyes, and the P’8920 B is gray through and through. Either way, your style will always be on point with these sunglasses.
Looking for your new favorite Hooks Series sunglasses? They’ll drop April 1 at your local specialist eyewear retailer, and online at porsche-design.com. The price for each pair is $440, which means more money to spend with Porsche Design on their latest collections for your wardrobe and your ride.
