Porsche Taycan Shocks Internet with Skateboard Wheels
Artist’s skateboard themed Porsche Taycan is taking the internet by storm — with a catch.
The automotive enthusiast’s realm is full of creative, and brilliant minds. As shown by this Porsche Taycan on what appears to be a London street with skateboard wheels. Tony Hawk, the skateboarding legend everyone tried to be when they were younger, couldn’t resist sharing the now-viral video of a Porsche Taycan with the eccentric plastic wheels.
And while incredibly convincing, is not as real as we were all hoping. Masterful digital article Fred Arthur added the wheels onto the Taycan post-filming, to make it seem as real as possible. With an incredible imagination and an equally powerful computer, Arthur has even added sk8r wheels to a Porsche 911 and a BMW M1 race car. Of which, is seen appropriately grinding at a skate park.

Obviously driving a Porsche Taycan on plastic wheels would not be wise, unless massive amounts of drifts and slides were on the agenda. Oh, and not stopping in the event of an emergency. Though, seeing the vision come to life through Arthur’s work is albeit refreshing — and arguably a substantial upgrade from the Taycan‘s standard alloy wheels.
Hawk’s take on the Taycan’s skateboard wheels earned Arthur another 230,641 additional eyes on his work, with Hawk’s caption reading, “I have a lot of questions, but firstly: if you’re going this big, why not splurge for ceramics?” It’s unclear as to whether or not Hawk was fooled into thinking the Taycan’s wheels were legit — but if not for him, most of the 70 commentors on Arthur’s original post left people confused as to whether or not the wheels were real. Many even indicated that they’d happily rock the wheels on their own sports car.
Would you put these wheels on your own car if they were real? Let us know in the comments as to why or why not!
