Hubba hubba. Porsche wouldn’t be Porsche if they didn’t have an undying fascination with racing. The 24hours of LeMans is coming up in June, so it’s about time for Porsche to show off what they’re bringing to the table.

This is the 911 RSR. Like the outgoing model, this one comes specced with an 4.0 liter flat-six prepared for endurance racing. It’ll make 460 horsepower. Hopefully, that revvy, naturally aspirated flat-six makes it’s way into the GT3 RS 4.0 in some way. It’s a shame that racing engines nearly never see any use outside of the track. The previous RS 4.0 brought some of that experience to the street. I anticipate the 991 will go the same route (eventually).

Compared to 997 RSR, this car has a lower center of gravity, a longer wheel base, and more carbon fiber. It also looks better.

The car will make it’s debut at the World Endurance Championship on the 14th. There’ll be a few teams fielding the car at LeMans, including one being driven by celebrity Patrick Dempsey.
