PSA: The 911 GT2 is not a Newbie’s Track Car

I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that a Porsche 911 GT2 is not the best car to learn how to track with. Especially with little training or experience. I’m assuming that’s the case at least.

No one actually crashes here, so that’s great. Still, the video is like a quick run-down of things you shouldn’t be doing. Don’t rest your arm on the window sill! Don’t shuffle your hands like that! Push the wheel, don’t tug it! Don’t throw your hands into the air when you go into a slide!? It’s just all bad.

I’m grateful that there are places where people that think they can drive can go an learn how bad they actually are and improve. The Circuit of the Americas is actually a pretty good place for that considering how much run-off space there is. That said, you have to be smart about it. Go to a High Performance Driving Event, or start with a less beastly car.

Storming out in a GT2 with no experience and a cavalier attitude is not smart.
