We all know some parts of Atlanta can be a bit rough, but it seems they’re flat out dangerous if you’re driving a $150,000 Mercedes-Benz. Unfortunately, Hollywood star and self-proclaimed car chick Queen Latifah found out the hard way.
According to Economic Times, the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG was stolen while being refueled at a gas station. The award-winning actress wasn’t driving the vehicle at the time of the robbery but was still shocked nonetheless. According to a report, an individual in a BMW parked alongside the Mercedes and another male jumped out and made his way into the Queen’s Benz.
Once inside, the thief started the car and sped away from the gas station. Speeding isn’t difficult for the S63 AMG, given its massive 5.5 liter V8 biturbo engine with 577 horsepower. It’s not clear how long the vehicle was missing but police eventually found it thanks to an anonymous tip.
Several men were seen congregating near the Mercedes-Benz in Southwest ATL, along with the BMW involved in the robbery, and another vehicle that was also reported stolen. Police eventually regained possession of the vehicle and even delivered it to Queen Latifah’s home. The Queen’s only statement? “Thieves left behind some fruit punch bottles and lemonade.”
