Video: Race Car vs. Race Bike Around The Isle of Man
It’s a pretty sweet show down if you ask me. A timed race between a race-prepared motorcycle and a race-prepared touring car, but there’s a catch; the biker will be in the car, and the driver will be on the bike. Who will win?
Perhaps you’ve heard of the Isle of Man. It’s a tiny little island nestled between Great Britain and Ireland, which is most famous for its Isle of Man TT motorcycle race. The forever long race laps across the stunning island make headlines every year due to their speed, danger and incredible skill required to navigate; and sadly because of the various lives they claim each year.
This time it’s 23 time TT Winner John McGuinness that swaps his Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP, for a BTCC Honda Civic Type R belonging to Double BTCC Champion Gordon Shedden. Both racers will take their skills and respective machines to Scotland’s Knockhill circuit to see who’s boss. Since the event is put on by Dunlop Tyres UK, the competition revolves around each driver learning each vehicle’s level of grip around the track.
On one corner you have a fast car with lots of aerodynamic downforce, and in the other a light and nimble motorcycle with neck-breaking acceleration. Who will win? The end result may shock you!
