Rennen International Open House and Car Meet Coverage
The Rennen International open house kicked off 2017 with a bang.
A few weeks ago, Rennen International invited us to attend their open house and car meet at their West Coast headquarters in Ontario, CA. If you’re not familiar with Rennen, they are one of the world’s international leading distributors of aftermarket wheels. The event was held on both Saturday and Sunday, February 25th & 26th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The folks over at Rennen were kind enough to have me come a bit earlier for an exclusive tour of their facility before the event was open to the public.
Made in ‘Murica!
Not only do Rennen distribute aftermarket wheels, they also manufacture a great deal of them in-house. Weiz, the general manager at the Ontario location gave me a special inside look at their manufacturing facility. He took me on step-by-step process of how their forged wheels are made. Starting from a large piece of raw forging, to the forming of the barrel, to the cutting of the wheel face designs. It was truly a unique experience to see how a wheel is constructed from scratch.
Dare to be different.
After the private tour, I headed outside to the front parking lot where enthusiasts and friends of Rennen began to gather for the car meet. Upon stepping out the front door, the first thing that caught my eye was a red Porsche 997 911 Carrera with it’s rear engine lid missing, revealing what definitely wasn’t a factory flat-six. As you can see in the photo above, it’s pretty clear that an LS swap found its way into the 911.
A Diverse Field of Cars
Little by little, more cars started to show up and fill up the parking spaces. I could’ve easily parked my little red Honda EG Hatch with the rest of fellow car enthusiasts, but she’s not exactly “show ready” quite just yet. It was awesome to see how much of a following and support Rennen has. From Mustangs, Corvettes, M3s to 911s, the car meet had all sorts of makes and models present. A very blue and very low GT-R even made a fashionably late appearance and it didn’t disappoint.
Along with the car meet, Rennen provided lunch to those who RSVP’d for the event and even held a raffle to win some cool prizes. There was also some music to keep the party going courtesy of DJ Carisma from the Real 92.3. If you couldn’t make it, you sure missed out on a great event. If you’re in the market for a new set of wheels, I’d recommend you check out what Rennen International has to offer. Thanks to Rennen for having us and we can’t wait for the next one!
