Rimac C_Two Visits Petersen Museum, en Route to Pebble Beach

Friend of 6SpeedOnline gives us walkaround of all-electric Rimac C_Two.

It’s Friday, and not only are we all about to check out of the office for the weekend, but this is a very special Friday. Why? Well, Pebble Beach is just now entering full swing.

News is coming through from luxury manufacturers across the board. Infiniti showcased their beautiful Prototype 10 electric sports racer. Bugatti has it’s brilliant, lightened and sharpened Divo. Porsche is doing all sorts of things. And speaking of Porsche, news has come from Rimac, a bespoke manufacturer of brilliant all-electric sports cars. Rimac, if you aren’t aware, has just recently had a minority stake of the company bought out by Porsche, as the brand continues pushing towards the electrified future.

So, of course Rimac will have a presence at Pebble Beach, but, first, they made a quick stop in Los Angeles, to the Petersen Museum. In fact, a friend of 6SpeedOnline, the editor of TeamSpeed.com, was actually on-hand for the event, so he very kindly sent us some quick pictures of the Rimac C_Two.

The C_Two, is, of course, Rimac’s electric GT super car, capable of 258 MPH. This 1 of 150 super car uses 1,914 horsepower and 1,696 lb-ft of electricity to do the 0-60 sprint in just 1.85 seconds. Despite packing all of the battery packs needed to pull off such feats, and having all-wheel drive, the Rimac C_Two is rather light, at just 3,400lbs. That is thanks to the carbon fiber body work, which is angular, aggressive, and rather excellent to look at.

But don’t think the Rimac C_Two is a one trick pony. It’s certainly brutally fast off the line, however the company says that the C_Two can complete at least two full bore laps around the Nurburgring with minimal to no degradation in performance. That’s an impressive feat, and a notable weak spot of electric cars, that few others could match.

With Porsche buying into Rimac, this is one company that we all need to keep our eyes on, because big things are clearly coming, and quickly, too. More news as we get it, from Pebble Beach.
