‘Ring Battle! Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Vs. Porsche 911 GT3
Porsche’s ultimate version of the 911 has a tough time keeping the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio at bay.
David and Goliath battles are always the most fun to watch, especially when it comes to cars. So when this Quadrifoglio decided to square up against Stuttgart’s finest, we paid attention. Let’s be fair, though. “David,” the Alfa Romeo, isn’t so small compared to a 911 GT3. Having set the fastest sedan lap time at the Ring, the Alfa can go into this fight with some confidence.
Open days at the Nurburgring always look a bit chaotic, and this video is no exception to that. Slower cars do a good job of staying out of the way, but the dicing through traffic still will make you nervous every now and then. Great driving from both cars means their battle goes for quite a while, but eventually they do run into a gaggle of traffic. Later in the video, the Alfa makes easy work of a few M3’s.
If you look at the numbers, the Alfa is still very much the underdog. Weighing a few hundred pounds heavier than the GT3, and having no aero, it’s at a significant disadvantage on paper. In the real world though, all it takes is a good amount of driver mod to make up for any discrepancy in performance. Bravo Alfa Romeo, bravo.
