Royal Purple Debuts Another Amazing Ringbrothers Creation at the SEMA Show
One of our favorite traditions at the annual SEMA Show is to visit Royal Purple’s booth to learn about new products — like Max-Blast Intake Valve Cleaner and Max Atomizer Fuel Injector Cleaner — and also to see what kind of show car they’ll be debuting.
Their streak of having one of the most beautiful cars at the show continues this year as they unveiled “G-Code,” a custom 1969 Chevrolet Camaro built by the Ringbrothers.

While fans poured over the finer details of the car, we sneaked in a few minutes with Mike Ring, one half of the Ringbrothers, to gain some insight on this nearly $1 million build.
6SpeedOnline: You two outdo yourselves with every new build. Where do you find the inspiration to build something so unique?
Mike Ring: I don’t know how to answer that question because we just do what’s inside of us. And when I say us, it’s everyone at the shop. We listen to everyone’s ideas regardless if they’re good or bad. We start out with a hand sketch from Gary Ragle, who’s an amazing designer that we work with, and then kick around ideas and fill in the blanks. The last thing we want is a 3D model that looks like it’s already been built. We want something that gets the owner excited, but also gives us some freedom to be creative. A lot of it just comes on-the-fly.
6SO: What are your favorite aspects of G-Code?
MR: I love the way we changed the car but left it very recognizable. The bumpers, taillights, bezels, and steering wheel are all machined, and the result is three levels above what we’ve done before. I think the level of machining is my favorite aspect — the attention to detail.
6SO: What’s next for the Ringbrothers?
MR: We’re really excited about our next project, which is a 1972 AMC Javelin AMX that we’re building for Prestone’s 90th anniversary. There are some ’69 and ’70 Javelins, but we’re excited about the bigger car. I need a break, though. Everyone thinks that we just show up every year with a new car, but there have been a lot of sleepless nights! [laughter]
