Rumor: Aston Martin Cygnet Cut From Production?
Aston Martin’s brave, thrilling expedition into smart car territory might be coming to a close. According to the internet auto blog grapevine, the Cygnet will not be produced anymore. That’s from an Aston Martin representative. Supposedly.
Despite its visually arresting style, the Cygnet could never really catch fire with the traditional Aston Martin clientele. Even if Aston has pulled the plug on their luxurious version of Toyota’s iQ, it did help with Aston meet their average emissions goal.
If you’re in the market for one of these inexplicably unpopular little cars, they’re still available across the world. It might come as a bit of a shocker that the Cygnet has not sold out. I know, I know, it’s essentially a Scion iQ underneath all the Aston Martin badging. But it’s a downright bargain at $48,000 for what will go down in history as one of the most… uh, interesting, Astons of all time.
