Say What? Consumer Reports Gives the Maserati Ghibli a Positive Review

Maserati Ghibli Home

Certain things I see make me ponder whether I have stepped into an alternate universe. This Consumer Reports video is one of them. I couldn’t believe how much they love the Maserati Ghibli. Typically, exotic machinery is anathema to Consumer Reports. Remember, these are the people who dote on appliances like the Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry and the Whirlpool WTW4850XQ 3.4 cu.-ft. top-load washer.

Surely, I thought, Consumer Reports would have derided the Ghibli for its loud exhaust and outright Italian charm, but no. In fact, at the end of the video, reviewer Jake Fisher lauds the car’s fantastic exhaust note, which, I’ll add, sounds too good to be coming from a turbocharged V6… Then you remember it’s a Maserati turbocharged V6, and that the folks at Maserati are miracle workers when it comes to exhaust sound. Especially when you consider that their head of engine development is Paolo Martinelli… A man who formerly headed the engine program for the Ferrari F1 team.

Check out the Consumer Reports review below. Their review is more exciting than you think, especially at the end when Fisher really lets the exhaust rip.
