Scuderia V Porsche 991 911 Claims Title of World’s Fastest
Manual Porsche 991 911 rewrites record books with basic bolt-on and tuning.
Speed records come and go, sometimes before we even actually get a chance to properly acknowledge them. Thus is the bane of progress, as manufacturers and tuners continue to push the proverbial envelope. But while records typically fall in singular fashion, supercar tuner Scuderia V recently took home a pair of them at once. And they did it in their incredible Porsche 991 911, a car that’s pretty darn close to stock.
Well, the Carrera weighs in at its stock weight and wears its stock P Zero tires, at least. But to take this Porsche 991 911 from a mere 370 hp all the way up to 600 simply required a host of bolt-on parts. And that infusion of horsepower was good enough to score this Porsche the title of both the world’s fastest 911 Carrera and the world’s fastest Porsche 991 911 with a manual transmission.
The team at Scuderia V accomplished both of those impressive feats at the recent Race 1000, a half-mile race that draws dozens of speed hungry participants each year. The Porsche laid down a best time of 261.81 km/h (162.68 mph), an impressive feat for a car that pretty much anyone could replicate. With the help of a skilled local tuner and a dyno, that is.
But like any other record, we’re guessing that this one won’t last long. It’s pretty clear that the guys at Scuderia V are determined to continue to push the envelope of what the Porsche 991 911 is capable of. And you can bet we’ll be tuning in to see what sort of results they cook up next!
