Series-3 Lotus Exige Is a Hell of a Track Weapon at 9000 RPM
Lotus is a perfect combination of a sub-2,500 pound chassis, a 500 HP-plus upgraded supercharger, and a Pagani-supplied Titanium exhaust.
Many of us have spent a healthy amount at the racetrack seeing a variety of awesome cars rip up some pavement. Without a doubt one of the best things you can do with a vehicle. We think that any car that was willing to make it out to the race track deserves respect for that sole fact.
However, sometimes there are certain vehicles that simply stand out at the track day. This insane Series-3 Lotus Exige V6 would without a doubt be one of them. Thanks to NM2255 Car HD Videos on YouTube, we are able to get a look into this 9,000-plus RPM fire-breathing beast.
Lotus’ in general are difficult to miss. Their small, wide, and low stature makes their presence known. A healthy array of bright colors usually help as well. However, this particular Lotus needs none of that fluff.
As you will quickly see, this Lotus puts its money where its mouth is. Initial observation will reveal one of the car’s most obvious upgrades as it bulges out the engine bay: A Harrop TVS1900 Supercharger kit.
While the Toyota-supplied 2GR engine in the Lotus makes a healthy 350 HP, this car is not one for modesty. The upgraded blower brings this already feather-light Exige to push about 500 HP with an additional 2,000 RPM of redline to scream all the way to 9,000 RPM.
If that doesn’t get you excited, wait until you hear the sequential gearbox slam through shifts down the main straight of Adria International Raceway.
The beautiful music box allowing these sounds to be possible is a bespoke piece made by Ajko, the famed manufacturers of the Pagani Huarya exhaust.
If I saw this Lotus behind me during a session at the track day, I’d be sure to let this guy pass and make sure to not let the flames shooting out the exhaust burn my car as it flies past.
Driving at the limit realistically doesn’t get much better than this. Christmas might be a long ways away at this point, but we know what we have on our wish list!
