Shift S3ctor Gathers All Manner of Fast Cars on Central California Airstrip

Ford GT at Shift S3ctor Airstrip Attack

This past weekend, Shift S3ctor held its fourth Airstrip Attack (1/2 mile, side-by-side racing and trap-speed competition) at the New Coalinga Municipal Airport near Fresno, California.

Note: Don’t let the airport’s name fool you. It was built in the late 1990s, so it’s not really that new. “New” differentiates the facility from the original Coalinga Municipal Airport that was in use from the 1920s until 2000.

There was something for everybody at this Shift S3ctor event. One-hundred cars raced per day — from BMW M3s and Nissan GT-Rs to Corvette ZR1s and Ford GTs; Ferrari 599s and Lamborghini Gallardos to Shelby Cobras and Dodge Vipers — if it was fast, it was there … okay, there was no Bugatti Veyron in attendance, but the variety was pretty entertaining as you’ll see in the video below.
