Stolen Huracan Spyder Found En Route to West Africa
The stealthy Huracan Spyder was discovered by a London car spotter, who quickly alerted the proper authorities.
If you’ve ever attempted to rent a high-end sports car, let alone an exotic, you’ve most likely been slapped in the face with a foot-tall pile of documents. Waivers, deposit forms, bank guarantees, affidavits, and all kinds of forms have to be filled out before someone hands you the keys to a $200,000 sports car.
Well, now you know why. Not long ago a woman with a false Irish ID turned up at an exotic rental agency in Switzerland. After filling out the appropriate documentation and funding an undisclosed amount of money for a deposit, she walked away with a black Lamborghini Huracan Spyder. Much to the disappointment of the agency, she never came back.
The news circulated the internet like wild fire, but after a week or so, the Lambo and the woman had fled to London and were never heard from again. Recently a London car spotter who was searching for a stolen Audi, spotted a familiar Huracan Spyder at a shady location. This car spotter must be quite good at his job, as he not only spotted the stolen Huracan, but also the Audi — together.
Once the authorities got involved, it was released that both machines and several others were going to be shipped to West Africa. They would never be seen again, by their rightful owners, at least. The owner of the Swiss rental agency flew to London and personally picked up the car and drove it back home.
Next time you try to rent an exotic and you’re inundated with paperwork — this is why.
