Super Satire: Ferrari “Enzo” vs Porsche 918 Supercar Showdown
If you’re not paying close enough attention to the Car Bros video below, you might think it’s exactly what the title says it is: a “Legendary Supercar Showdown” between the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Ferrari Enzo. But all you have to do is take a look at the host’s “Porsh” shirt, and you know you’re not going to get your average supercar review.
Besides that little detail though, you do kind of have to pay attention to grasp the subtle humor of the piece. But there are plenty of hints. Like the moment our host compares the Porsche 918 to a Chevy Volt, and then scoffs at the “range anxiety” he gets from the car’s hybrid range. Or when he doesn’t really think the 918 is worth the money, and that you might be better off buying a Prius and “driving it around with an Oculus Rift.”
Of course, all that subtlety goes out the window as soon as the second car in the showdown shows up. Yeah, that’s no Enzo. Not by a long shot.
But kit-car or not, the host spends the rest of the 9:18-second review (nice editing!) talking about the “Enzo” with hyperbolic bravado that would put the best auto show host to shame. Which is pretty much the point behind all the laughs.
