Supercar Rentals on a Racetrack, What Could Go Wrong?

Supercar Rentals on a Racetrack, What Could Go Wrong?

Supercar experiences involve giving the keys to a supercar to the average Joe.

When it comes to drivers who are less experienced with expensive and powerful cars, the last thing you want is an accident. So, having them drive on a racetrack must be safer right?

A modern car, like the V6-powered Toyota Camry, is quicker then many of the sports cars of 10-20 years ago. Manufacturers are building faster and safer cars every year and they are selling like hotcakes. The 707 horsepower Dodge Challenger Hellcat offers more power than the fastest car of the 1990s, the McLaren F1. And almost anyone with a decent job and credit score car afford to buy one. As we all know the money to buy a fast car doesn’t mean you have the skills to drive it. There are a ton of fail videos on YouTube to support this concept. Supercars of the past were very dangerous to drive, without traction or stability control they would bite you for looking at the gas pedal the wrong way.

In contrast, modern supercars are incredibly easy to drive in most conditions. The stability and traction control systems help keep your ego in check, and the Ferrari out of the wall, around the next corner. While these systems are very advanced, they cannot completely fix the idiot behind the wheel. Ego will often get a driver in over their head in a hurry, especially behind the wheel of a fast car. So, you can only imagine the risk a supercar rental company takes when the average driver gets behind the wheel in some of the fastest cars in the world on a racetrack.
