You could argue that A.J. Baime, a writer for Playboy magazine, has a dream job. Part of that position includes deciding if he would buy the Porsche 911 Turbo S if money were no object. One of Baime’s friends answered that question for himself and was kind enough to lend Baime his $200K+ coupe. During […] More »
In some cases, “new” doesn’t always mean “better.” Automobile Magazine’s Preston Lerner certainly seems to subscribe to that philosophy regarding the Porsche 911 Turbo. He thinks the 2014 model, which packs 560 horsepower in S trim, is “magnificent” and “awesome.” However, he finds its sophisticated electronic aids somewhat remove the driver from the behind-the-wheel experience. After decades of selling sports cars, it decided to start selling an off-road-capable SUV and […] More »
When I was in high school, I used to go out on the lake with my friends. One of my buddies would tow us behind his family’s boat on a giant inflatable tube and proceed to maneuver the craft in an effort to knock us into the water. I was incredibly good at hanging on… A […] More »

The benefit for you and I has been the increase in both horsepower and efficiency in any engine available. But the most perfect engine in the world is nothing if it reaches the ground through a two-speed box […] More »
