Take a POV Stroll in the Mighty McLaren 720S

If you haven’t been fortunate enough to get behind the wheel of a McLaren 720S, here’s the next best thing.

Of all the amazing supercars on the market today, one of our very favorites is the McLaren 720S. Packing unmatched styling with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 producing 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque, it’s easy to see why. Rocketing to 60 mph takes a mere 2.7-seconds, fast enough to embarrass most everything else on the road today. And if you’ve got a long enough road, it’ll reach 212 mph before giving up. Which is plenty fast enough, we’d say.

But if you haven’t had the fortune of getting behind the wheel of the amazing McLaren 720S, you probably don’t know why we love it so much. Thankfully, YouTuber MilesPerHr is here to help rectify that little problem. In this recent video, we’re treated to a nice walkaround showing off the car’s gorgeous lines and undeniable visual appeal. And then we get to go along for a spirited drive.

But let’s be honest, listening to this thing idle and watching it sit motionless is just a tease. Not to mention a waste of a good supercar. So it’s time to hop behind the wheel, pick a driving mode, and head off to see what she’ll really do. But first, of course, we’ve got to see the incredibly cool instrument cluster slide out in front of us.

This isn’t your average, caution-filled stroll in the mountains, either. Our driver isn’t afraid to nail it from the start and use both lanes around corners. Which probably isn’t the smartest thing to do in something as inherently fast as a McLaren 720S. But it makes for highly entertaining viewing, anyway. And if you can’t seem to get behind the wheel of one, it’s the next best thing!
